Clarivate has made the Research Assistant available on the Web of Science (WoS) platform, using generative AI to enhance interaction with scientific literature in the WoS Core Collection.

Palacký University can use trial access to Research Assistant, which is activated within the CzechELib consortium and will last from 17.3. till 30.4.

Key features of Research Assistant:

Developed in collaboration with Web of Science partners since December 2023, the beta phase was based on user feedback. Key features include:

• Natural search in multiple languages
• Result relevance and clear summary of information
• Interactive visualization of trends and analytical outputs
• Related search suggestions and synonym transparency
• Saving chat history for continuous work
• Support for specific tasks such as literature searches or selecting a suitable journal

After the commercial launch, the developers improved Research Assistant based on user feedback. New features include:

• Query editing to refine results
• Improved response structure
• Better data visualization and interactive elements
• Expanded support for advanced queries and analytical tools
• Moving to GPT-4o mini for greater accuracy and speed
