Finna

Full info:

Finland's national portal, which allows users to search and use a vast amount of cultural and scientific materials.

The portal is managed and developed by the National Library of Finland (Kansalliskirjasto) in collaboration with archives, libraries, museums and other partners. The aim of this collaboration is to facilitate the search and use of information and to support lifelong learning. By integrating physical and digital collections, Finna provides a single interface for accessing books, scientific articles, historical photographs, maps and audiovisual recordings, which facilitates access to information and supports open science. It not only enables efficient searches across institutions, but also simplifies the management of library loans and connects users with freely available digital resources. Finna is an example of a well-functioning national portal that connects libraries, archives and museums into a single interface, thereby significantly facilitating the work of students, researchers and the general public.
