The Czech Pedagogical Thesaurus was created in the early 1990s based on the translation of the English version of the European Pedagogical Thesaurus. The thesaurus is continuously edited and supplemented by the staff of the bibliography department of the Pedagogical Library so that it corresponds to developments in the field of pedagogy and the changing needs of users. It contains terms from the field of education and training (theory, research and practice) and a selection of terms from other related fields (psychology, sociology and others).

The thesaurus is connected to the library's catalog, so it allows you to search for corresponding books and articles in the catalog of the National Pedagogical Library of J.A. Comenius.

The tree structure can be searched and interactively browsed within the thesaurus. It can be a help in cataloging pedagogical literature and at the same time in research services.
